| South Africa has the best Sweet Cherry pit spitter in the World |

 Gavin Grobbelaar from South Africa (picture) is the world's best Sweet Cherry pit spitter in 2006. Agricultural journalists from 16 countries around the whole world were participating at the World Championship in Sweet Cherry pit spitting. Grobbelaar spat the pit 12.8 meter. His closest competitor was Carlos Curci from Argentina who early in the competition took the leading position with a spit of 12.2 m and also Rasmus Lang-Ree from Norway with a spit of 11.1.m. Journalists from 24 countries at Hamar Agricultural journalists from 24 countries came to the Congress at Hamar. Ishill Hayato (48) from Japan had done a long trip before he arrived Hamar late Friday evening. What surprised him most about Norway was the variable weather conditions with changes from sun to rain several times during a day.
- That's a big difference from Japan, says Hayato.
Picture: Hayato brought his glove from Switzerland and was looking to find the other when he arrived the Congress.

Get some tips for getting the most from a great opportunity as the 2006 IFAJ Congress is. Welcome to Norway and the 50th annual IFAJ Congress
August 12-16 2006!
Almost 200 agricultural journalists will meet in Hamar by the lake Mjøsa in August. Participants from 27 countries have registered for the congress. We look forward to showing you our country, but most of all to seeing you all and to give you interesting agricultural stories from the top of the world. We will feed your senses and give you a taste of Norway. Hamar is situated in one of the most interesting agricultural areas in the country. Hamar is close to the capital Oslo, the main airport, the mountains and Norway`s famous valleys. Practical information
